Kitulgala? Where even is that?

Kitulgala, about a 3 hour drive east of Colombo, lies in the hill country of Sri Lanka. The name is derived from the Kitul tree which is used among other things to make kitul syrup – Sri Lankas maple syrup.
With its lush jungle, the Kelani river, canyons, waterfalls and wildlife all around it’s the perfect spot to experience Sri Lankas nature and take on adventure activities all year round.
